I thought this article was interesting because I never realized exactly how much a Twitter follower costs to brands who pay for followers. The cost-per-follower rate for Promoted Accounts runs between $2.50 and $4 while the cost-per-engagement rate for Promoted Tweets runs between $0.75 and $2.50. Factors when calculating "engagement" for CPE include clicks, favorites, retweets and @replies.

I never realized how expensive twitter advertising was either! And they require a three month commitment with a minimum spending of $15,000. Facebook ads let you spend as little as you'd like and have no time requirement. But it's no doubt that with the high costs twitter has in mind, more people will be reached than by a Facebook advertiser who only wants to spend $100 a month...
Hmm, that definitely doesn't sound like it is worth it.
I agree to an extent it does not sound worth it but also I personally know I ignore almost all advertisement on Facebook because I feel it is already so cluttered and devalued. Twitter, I guess now because of price, has less advertisement and I feel less bombarded than Facebook. So I agree with Courtney, in some situations it may be better to spend the extra dough.
Wow- I also think it's extremely overpriced. I also tune out Facebook ads, but I do not pay much more attention to Promoted Tweets. And I tend to find advertising through both media kind of pathetic/weird.
