New Social Media Search Tool Combines Sentiment Analysis & Content Discovery

I just found this article and thought it was pretty interesting. The article talks about how there is a new social media search tool called Proliphiq. I think what is neat about Proliphiq is that its goal is to connect the right users to the right content at the right time. We talked in class about how some online content is unsuccessful because it doesn't reach the right people. I think Proliphiq has a lot of great potential to really succeed!

Here is the article:

Interesting. This is still one area where there isn't a dominant player. Klout is doing pretty well, but it is unclear how useful their score actually is, so if a company can develop a better algorithm they might be really successful.

I thought it was very interesting. I looked into it. I found another article that refers to it as a service, so I am now curious how they run their business. Whether or not they have ads or its a surcharge to join, I do not know. However, I found another article that describes some of the features that will set Proliphiq apart. Some of the features include rating other peoples trends and labeling people experts or thought leaders of certain topics. There are many other great features but knowing there is a series of checks and balances gives me more creditability to the tool. I also wondering their market target. Would they target people who are social leaders themselves or is it for people who follow trends routinely? It mentions that in October it will be open to businesses. This could be a very viable tool for small businesses to seize opportunity in the community to gather interest/clients or to work with other small businesses.
