It's no secret that companies are using social media to promote their brands. A great comparison is between how companies use Facebook Pages and Google+ Brand pages to promote themselves. Facebook has had years to refine its webpage while Google + is using new technology to differentiate themselves. Personally, I believe that Google +'s brand pages are really what can set it apart from facebook and beyond, this is because Google + can actually have live chats with customers, whereas Facebook can only post status updates.
