Take This Lollipop

Just came across a neat little Facebook app that's getting a lot of attention. Take This Lollipop provides a personalized short movie using information and pictures from your Facebook profile. At over 9,000,000 views, it's been quite successful.

I don't want to give away the plot, but as a warning, it is a little creepy. Although the creator didn't intend for it to be anything other than entertainment, it does seem to raise questions about online privacy. Go and check it out. You can always remove the app's access later.

I was really excited to get this app after reading your post but was immediately scared away by all of the permission requests. I agree that it definitely raises questions about online privacy. I feel like every time facebook "changes" it gets harder and harder to change one's privacy settings. Facebook wants us to share us much as possible so I'm sure that they are adding all of the barriers to accessing, changing, and maximizing privacy on purpose.

There are also generic versions of the video, if you want to see what it looks like without giving them permission to access your data.
