It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's take on social networking

I couldn't help but think of our Social Media Marketing class when I watched last week's episode of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Here's a teaser for the episode, but you can probably find the full-episode online somewhere as well:

What the promo doesn't show is the main premise of the episode, which involves the gang's goal of creating a viral video to promote their bar. Frank (Danny Devito's character) finds out--as we all know from our own attempts--that making a viral video is not as easy as it sounds. Hope you guys enjoy the episode as much as I did!

I saw this episode and thought of our class too! It definitely showed the same results that we had with trying to make a video go viral. I went on the Fx network website after seeing your post and its really cool how the network uses social media too. On the page for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia they have a "Sunny Social Club" where you can interact with the show through Facebook and Twitter. It also has a other fun stuff that makes you feel more connected to the show.

I thought of class when I saw this episode as well. I thought it was funny how they emphasized the influence of social media and also how distracting it can be.
